Nobody warns you how much the first paycheck can sneak up on you. It wasn’t always easy, and I won’t pretend that it was. I kept expecting to lose interest, and somehow never did.
Looking back, it was the small moments that stayed with me. There were false starts, of course, and no shortage of doubt. These days I can’t quite imagine going back.
